Important Note & Disclaimer Before You Start:
โขEnglish is not my first language. While I strive for accuracy, if you come across any errors, I appreciate your understanding.
This story also includes references to medical and spy related fields. I have done extensive research to ensure authenticity however, if any inaccuracies are found, they are unintentional.
โขTrigger Warnings: This book contains sensitive and potentially disturbing content, including rape (not committed by the male lead), torture, violence, and emotional abuse. I will place trigger warnings at the beginning of the relevant chapters. Please read them carefully and proceed only if you feel comfortable.
โขAbout Rudra's Character: Rudra's character will take a much darker turn in this book. I had planned some of these intense scenes in the first book too, but I held back. I wanted to build their relationship and bond properly first, it wouldn't have made sense to throw all that in so early. That's why Passionate Devotion stayed a little more simple and clean. But his love is obsessive, ruthless in this book. The warm restraint you saw in Passionate Devotion will not exist here. His actions will often be morally wrong.
If at any point you find yourself thinking, "Wait... is he even the hero?" congratulations, you're absolutely right.
Because this time, he's not the hero.
He will be portrayed more as a villain than a traditional hero.
Yes, there will be someone else.
A green-flag prince, straight out of a fairytale, will step into the story.
Kind. Gentle. Everything she once thought she needed.
โขStory Themes: Unlike the first book, this story will explore darker, heavier emotions. It focuses on pain, healing, survival, and the long, hard jorney toward forgiveness not just romantic love. This is not a fairytale romance. So, if you're stepping into this expecting a fairytale where love magically tames the beast STOP RIGHT HERE. ๐จ Please do not expect a light or "feel-good" love story.
โขAbout Saanvi's Journey: Saanvi will experience extreme emotional and physical pain in this book. She will break down, cry, and struggle to cope with her trauma. I respectfully request that readers do not label her weak or a crybaby. Those who have read the first book know how strong and resilient she is. What she faces here would break anyone.
What to expect from this book:
More secrets, more fights, and a lot more revelation and plots.
A deep dive into Rudra's past his pain, his regrets, and the things that made him who he is.
Saanvi's emotional journey her mother, her grief, her family, and her struggle to move on.
โขAnother important topic that needs to be addressed:
I've seen many comments, and I completely understand that a lot of you don't want Saanvi to end up with Rudra. You want someone else in his place, a "green flag" male lead who will cherish her, love her kindly, and never make her suffer.
And honestly, from a woman's perspective, I get why you feel this way. No doubt, Rudra has made Saanvi suffer, and your protectiveness toward her is valid.
Now, theoretically, I could introduce a new male character (which I'll) a perfect man who would love her gently, Saanvi would fall in love with him, Rudra would regret everything, and maybe I'd even go so far as to kill Rudra off so he could "feel" the pain he caused. Then Saanvi and the new guy would have their perfect, fairy tale ending. Sounds satisfying, right?
But let's pause here for a second. If that's the kind of story you're expecting, I'll have to stop you right there.
Relationships, aren't that simple. Life isn't about running from one person to another the moment things get difficult. Every deep bond comes with its own share of messiness, complexity, and struggle. I'm not talking about extreme red flags like cheating, if that were the case, trust me, Saanvi's divorce would've happened way back in Book 1.
Leaving is valid when it's necessary. Staying is valid when it's a conscious.
And about shaurya, let me ask you something. Shaurya and Saanvi have been best friends for a long time, even before Rudra ever entered her life. Yet, despite all that time, Saanvi never fell in love with Shaurya. Now suddenly, after everything that's happened, if I made Saanvi end up with Shaurya, wouldn't that be unfair to him?
Because honestly, it would feel like she's settling like Shaurya became the second option simply because Saanvi couldn't find anyone else.
Now imagine yourself in Shaurya's place. How would you feel if someone chose you only because they didn't have a better choice? Just because Shaurya loves Saanvi doesn't mean he should become her backup plan. That's not love. That's not respect. I love Shaurya too he's not just a side character to me. And I refuse to do that to his character.
One sided love is far better than to become someone's second choice.
That's my opinion, and it's a reality check we often forget when shipping characters.
And if you're thinking "but Saanvi is Rudra's second choice too" no, that's not true. Rudra's past is over. His connection to his ex is done. The issues Rudra struggles with are rooted in deeper trauma and trust issues, and some parts of his mindset that I can't reveal yet. But make no mistake. Rudra's love for Saanvi is not confused, not divided, not half-hearted.
And just to clarify something very important:
Saanvi has never been held responsible for "fixing" Rudra. If you've been reading closely, you'd see that she never begged him to change, never put her self-worth on hold waiting for him to heal. As a woman, it's not her job and it never will be to fix a broken man. Healing is an individual journey. Rudra's evolution, or lack of it, is on him, not on her. And that will stay true even in the sequel.
It's a dark romance. The sequel is going to be much more twisted. When I say it's dark, I mean emotionally dark. Not in the toxic ways you sometimes see, there will be no SA, no abuse disguised as love. Rudra's love for Saanvi is intense, obsessive even, but it's not just rooted in lust. He's not perfect. He's far from it. But his love isn't fake.
I saw a comment saying Rudra is just "lust addicted" to Saanvi. To anyone who feels that way cuties, I genuinely suggest you re-read the story carefully. Rudra's love for Saanvi is not just about lust. He recognized her pain without her telling when no one else did not even her own family. He stood up for her when she couldn't stand up for herself, even against his own father and her family. He made her realize that she's not too hard to love, that she's worthy of being fought for.
I know that a lot of what Rudra has done is truly unforgivable, and I'm not here to excuse his actions. He will suffer, and I'll make sure of that. Actions have consequences, and he is no exception.
But at the same time, let's not erase everything he has done for Saanvi. His love for her is complicated, obsessive, flawed but real. I won't ever defend his mistakes, but I also won't question the depth of his love for her.
[Rudra's obsession might be madness, but when it comes to her, there's a line he won't cross. Because my female lead is Saanvi Malhotra she may break, but she'll make sure to break the bones of anyone who tries to hurt her.]
Justice will be brutal and it will be served, that's my promise to you.
Final Note:
Please approach this story with caution and an open mind.
It's a story about flawed characters, difficult choices, and painful growth not perfect love.
Your mental well-being is important, so if any topic feels too heavy, it's completely okay to take a break or stop.
